Designing Meaningful Online (Museum) Experiences

27 October 2020 | 10:00 - 16:00

How do you translate ‘complicated’ stuff (e.g. museum collections & research data) into engaging, unique and meaningful online experiences? In this practical workshop, Wouter van der Horst, will share his experience from working on digital educational content with world renowned museums and institutions such as the Rijksmuseum, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and MuseumNext. In addition, he will also teach you how to translate your personal research into fun, meaningful and engaging media formats.

Educator & Media Technologist Wouter van der Horst combines his passion for history, art, science and teaching with new technology in We Share Culture.
After finishing his degree as a history teacher, he got his Masters in Media Innovation, where he researched how Snapchat revolutionized young audiences’ museum engagement. That was followed by working at the Rijksmuseum, where he brought together digital content and education with award-winning products as SnapGuide, RijksTube & RijksCreative. He now further specializes in innovative ways to engage audiences through new technology, both in and outside the walls of museums and learning institutes.
